Buzzle Bee (chords)

28/07/10 06:04, maggam24

Hi All,

I recently finished my dissertation, and thought I would post some more transcriptions of High Llamas tunes.  This time, rather than posting a random assortment, I've decided to go by album, so here is Buzzle Bee.

I've marked measure lines with either a : or | (not sure why I wasn't consistent, but anyway).  What ever is inside the measure gets played for the full measure. So, for example, with a time signature of 4/4, |Gm7| Gm7/C, C7| wouid be Gm7 for four beats, then Gm7/C for two beats, and C7 for two beats.  Anyway, I've transcribed the album mostly on piano, but the transcriptions work equally well on guitar, though might be more tricky, as I have tried to capture the full orchestration in the chords, so you might end up with some bass notes that make the guitar voicings more difficult.  Hope this helps.  I've got a number of other tunes transcribed from other albums, and will hopefully post them when I get around to completing the albums.

best,

Marc

PART II: LOOPS

Loop One is an organ [4/4]. This repeats until the end fade.

Bm7, E7sus4: Am7, D7sus4

Against this organ there are three other loops. In the Right channel there is a marimba doubled by an organ, in [6/8].

Right channel     (e, b, d, e, b, -)|: repeat to fade.

In the Left channel there are two loops. The first is a marimba an octave higher than the marimba in the right channel loop, also in [6/8]

Left   channel A: (-, -, -, e, b, a)

The third loop (the second in the left channel) is a marimba an octave lower. This loop is in [6/8] and begins on the sixth beat of the other two loops.

Left   channel B: (e, b, a, -, -, -).

These three loops in [6/8] loop against the main organ theme Bm7, etc. in [4/4]. In the studio track, other effects, like tremolo vibes, etc., are layered over these loops.

  Hi there

really nice work to see all the chord structures....I particularly like Bobby's Court...and its loops endng...sheer genius in my opinion.

   My fave songs are

Campers in control/The Dutchman/Checkin In Checkin Out.....plus  the magnificent Beet Maize And Corn album

Sophisticated chords/sophisticated writing...yes......but it sounds brilliant to me!Not least the instruments and the way they are used.Sean is in my opinion one of te finest writers in Music
